I knew clearly that my life work was to help people understand their pain and identify the obstacles that keep them from attaining their goals and dreams. I want to help others find hope, learn that they have choices and begin to envision the possibilities.”

Jody Frank, Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Diplomate in Clinical Social Work and a Certified Addiction Specialist (CAS), received her graduate degree (MSW) from the University of Southern California. She has mastered the art of psychotherapy through her innate ability to deeply connect with others. Jody listens carefully to what clients say, or don’t say, when sharing their story. She considers each person’s unique needs while walking side-by-side with them on their journey of reflection and self-actualization.

After 31 years in private practice Jody remains passionate about her work as a therapist. She sees therapy as a partnership, whether she is working with an individual, family or couple. She utilizes an interactive and direct approach as clients look at what has them stuck, or in exploring any relational, psychological, addiction or health crisis. Her niche, is her ability to explore and identify unstated and not so obvious traumas that may impede personal growth, sobriety, and contentment. She describes these as “the silent traumas often seen with neglect.”

As she personally traveled through the tumultuous yet beautiful dynamics of the foster/adopt system, Jody developed the awareness, sensitivity and perseverance it takes to walk this path. She recognizes that the conversation and special needs tend to be very different for those who foster/adopt, parent an adopted child, have been adopted or have the wish to adopt.

Other areas of specialization include helping Singles and Couples look at their intimacy, codependency and the communication patterns in their relationships. Jody loves to work with Generational Family issues, such as Parents and their Adult Children and Adult Sibling challenges.

Jody is very familiar with the Entertainment Industry and the trials and tribulations of working in this extraordinary business and the emotional, financial and spiritual impact it has on oneself and one’s personal relationships. Privacy and Confidentiality are always respected.

Groups have always been a passion of Jody’s and has brought that passion into her practice. She trains, supervises and consults therapists who want to further develop their therapeutic skill sets.

If curious what she does for fun, people might be surprised to find out that boxing is her idea of a great workout, and that she is crazy about pets. She will always be sure to ask others about theirs.
